This tutorial will guide you through the process of designing and editing your book cover.

Let’s get started

Step 1: Describe your book and choose your target audience age 

first, In your own words, tell us about your book. 

Second, Select the target audience ages that best suit your book.


You can choose multiple options.

With this information, our AI will generate a few cover options for your book automatically.

Click ‘Next’ to proceed.  


Step 2: Review and edit book details, and fill in the ‘About the Author’ section:

First, Ensure all the details are correct

Second, Take your time to provide information about yourself in the ‘About the Author’ section.

Share your interests, experiences, and what makes you unique in your own words.

We’ll use this information to generate the biography of your book in the next step.  


You can also upload an image of yourself that will appear on the back cover.  

Choose the appropriate book size for your book.  

Click ‘Next’ to continue.

Step 3: AI generated author bio and back cover text:  


In this section we use the author bio and back cover text you provided to generate fitting text for your book using AI


You can click the ‘Regenerate’ button to get different versions of your bio and back cover text.  


If you’d like to make further edits, you can always customize the text to your liking.

Once you’re satisfied with the result, click ‘Next’.  


Step 4: Cover design – Front cover, spine, and back cover: 

In this step, we’ll design the front cover, spine, and back cover of your book.

If you want to upload your own design for the cover design –
click on ‘upload ready cover’ and drop your file in.

Make sure your file is a single PDF file that includes the back cover, spine, and front cover as one image.


the recommended file size is up to 40MB
and the max file size is 100MB

If you wish to get your own personalized book cover design generated by Spines
click on the ‘wizard cover design’

Using AI, we’ve generated several options based on your book title, description, author bio, and back cover text.
Choose the option that best fits your book.

You can click the ‘Regenerate’ button to explore even more options!


By clicking the ‘Font’ button, you can experiment with different fonts until you’re satisfied with the result.

The right-hand menu allows you to easily navigate between the front, back, and spine covers.

If you’re happy with the result, click ‘Next’ to proceed to the next step.
If you prefer to manually edit your cover, choose the template that best suits your book and click the ‘Edit’ button.

Step 5: Manual cover editing and adjustments:  


Now you can make manual adjustments to the cover design.  

You can change the cover image by selecting from our stock images,
uploading your own, or generating one using AI by describing the image you want to create.

After you’re done, click on ‘Choose Cover’.  

Adjust the cover design to your preference.  

Scroll to zoom in or out, rotate the cover, and adjust its size.  

In the ‘Draw’ section, you can add text with just one click.  


Choose different fonts, sizes, and colors,
and adjust properties such as opacity, background color, stroke, shadow, and blur

you can edit any text by simply double clicking on it, or by clicking once and then selecting the pen icon.

You can also add images, shapes, arrows, and lines.
Move them around and adjust their positions and sizes by clicking on the object you want to modify.

If needed, click the ‘Finetune’ button to adjust the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, blur, and warmth of your cover.

You can also add a filter to your image by clicking ‘Filters’. 

Play around with these options until you’re satisfied with the result.

Repeat the same steps for the spine and back cover of the book.

To easily access the last image you selected,
simply click on the ‘Previously chosen’ button.

Please note: If there are two objects on top of each other, you can only click on one of them.To select the other one, click once on the side of the screen, then click the desired item.

Click ‘Next’ when you’re ready, and your cover will be complete!
