Nir Ido

Chief Operating Officer at Spines

Nir Ido is the Chief Operating Officer at Spines. His role is as dynamic as his approach. He balances efficiency and quality seamlessly, ensuring company growth never comes at the cost of author experience. Day to day, his goals further the vision Spines was founded on, ensuring that all operations implemented at Spines can be delivered and scaled. His career path brought him to publishing long before Spines existed, and the greatest strengths he brings to his role trace back to having done that work himself, becoming a bestselling author, one reader at a time.

Give me a pen and I will change the world.

THE JOURNEY

Nir's Path to Spines

Nir’s professional path began in the non-profit sector. While working as a counselor for at-risk youth, he discovered his keen ability to listen, learn and influence.  He began gathering his thoughts and sharing them online, ultimately building an audience that surpassed 150,000 followers. Those posts and writings became the foundation of his  bestselling books published through Niv Publishing and selling more than 40,000 copies.

While earning his B.A. in Communications from Reichman University, Nir began to turn his social influence into a career. He took on a position as a social media campaign manager for an organization supporting disabled veterans, and later scaled his abilities to manage political campaigns for mayoral candidates. This was the early proof that his instincts and talents ran toward operations and audience as much as writing.

His relationship with Niv Publishing came full circle when he joined the very company that had successfully published his own books. He began as a Community Manager but quickly advanced, first to Head of Sales, then Head of Marketing, and within just a few years his leadership skills advanced him to CEO of Niv Publishing, one of the largest and most influential publishing houses in Israel.

Drawn by the same mission that had developed his own path, Nir later joined Spines, inspired to help authors leave their legacy through publishing. Today, as COO, he leads the operational core of Spines, influencing and implementing the systems, teams, and daily execution behind the rapidly expanding company.

He's Sat on the Other Side of the Desk

Before running operations for authors, he was one. Writing books, building a readership, and learning firsthand what it takes to get a story in front of the people who need it. That’s not incidental to how he leads, it’s instrumental.  Being an author and a client of the publishing house first, he lived the process long before having the authority to influence it. That experience determined how he runs Spines today.

FOR AUTHORS

How Nir's Work Shows Up for Authors

You Are the Architect of Your Book.

You Are the Architect of Your Book.

Nir understands from his own success that the most important factor in an author's experience is their own involvement in the publishing process. The final product, the standards, and the personal touches that matter most are a reflection of this input. That understanding drives Spines operations, centering them around each author. The more creative control authors have, the more the finished book actually feels like theirs.
Built by Someone Who's Done It Himself

Built by Someone Who's Done It Himself

Nir isn't managing a process he's studied. He's published his own books, built his own following from nothing, and worked his way up inside a publishing house before ever running one. He knows exactly what's at stake for the writers entrusting Spines with their manuscript.
A Standard of Service You Can Feel

A Standard of Service You Can Feel

What Nir says he's proudest of at Spines is simple: the company stands behind what it commits to and authors feel it. It's the difference between a platform and a partner and it's the standard he holds his team to on every single book.
Operations You'll Never Have to Think About

Operations You'll Never Have to Think About

The best sign of efficiently run operations is that you never notice them. The goal is to streamline each process and procedure within each department at every stage so that the customer experience and end product match the high professional standards set by Spines.

Publish the Book. Life Is Too Short Not To.

If Nir could give every author one piece of advice, it’s this: publish the book. Life is short, he says, and we always regret the things we didn’t do so we might as well go after as many of our dreams as we can. For Nir, it’s not just advice but the instinct that turned his own writing into books and, eventually, into a career spent making sure other authors get the same chance.
